On EarthDay 2008, Advanced Lumonics introduced the EvoLux and things have not been the same ever since. EvoLux is the most powerful direct replacement LED Light bulb available. Now, thanks to further advances in LED technology from CREE we've taken the EvoLux even further.
The new LED module used in the 2009 EvoLux allows for higher lumen output and even more efficient power consumption. Additionally, this latest generation light engine features a very high CRI or Color Rendering Index. CRI is a a good way to determine the quality of light and its faithfulness to render colors correctly, EvoLux features a a CRI of 75 for cool white and 80 for Warm White making them some of the highest in the industry.
How We Did It
In order to create an LED light bulb that can compete head to head with both CFL and high wattage incandescents, we started with the latest generation led chip light engine. We then added a revolutionary active cooling system that employs a silent long life internal fan to cool the heatsink. The entire housing is encased in ABS plastic to always ensure that the body of the EvoLux is cool to the touch.
Combined these technologies allow us to run the LED light chip at a high enough power output to provide amazing, room light that will fill a room.
